Memeber of the House of Representatives, representing Zango-Kataf/Jaba federal constituency of Kaduna State and Chairman Committee on Health, Rt. Hon. Amos Magaji Gwamna distributed ten thousand (10,000) bags of fertilizer to farmers in his constituents to assist them mitigate the high cost of agricultural input cost.
In an effort to assist farmers record bumper harvest, the Member National Assembly Zango-Kataf/Jaba Constituency of Kaduna State, Honourable Amos Gwamna Magaji has distributed Ten Thousand Bags of Fertilizer to members of his constituency.
Flagging off the distribution of the commodity in Kwoi and Zonkwa, the Headquarters of Jaba and Zango-Kataf LGAs yesterday, Amos reiterated his commitment to ensuring execution of projects that reflects the yearnings and inspiration of the people of his constituency which prompted him to provide the fertilizer to them at the right time.
The Lawmaker said fertilizer has become so costly that most people cannot afford it, and most of the times, the commodity is given to those in need at the wrong time, with this view in sight, he instructed that it should be shared at the right time across all groups of people irrespective of any difference.
He also advised those that would benefit not to go and sell the fertilizer, but to make judicious use of the community to help in bringing more food to the communities owing to the economic hardship that is biting hard on people.
He also urged the people to diversify in what they farm by cultivating different types of crops, noting that the area is blessed with good soil. This idea he said, will save the people from concentrating on laying emphasis on one crop, and also to avoid lost, such as the incident of the Ginger episode that wrecked havoc in the state last year.
While thanking the EXCOs of the People’s Democratic Party in the constituency whose tenure would be ending very soon, he assured them that he will continue to be grateful to them for giving him the mandate to serve the people which he promised he will never fail in doing so.
The Legislator added that he has a lot of passion in serving the people in all endeavours of life, geared towards bringing the dividends of Democracy right to their doorsteps.
Receiving the fertilizer on behalf of the people of their constituencies, the People’s Democratic Party Chairmen of Jaba and Zangon Jataf Local Governments Honourable Jonathan Gyam and Honourable Samuel Basa in their remarks, commended Honourable Amos Gwamna Magaji for his kind gesture.
According to them, the people of the Constituency have made the right choice by electing him because, it is the wish of all electorates for the elected officer they have chosen to come back and serve them, which Amos is doing very well.
Speaking to newsmen after collecting her share, a beneficiary Mrs Hannatu Jonathan thanked Honourable Amos Gwamna Magaji for the distribution, which she described as timely and the best assistance that the people are in dire need.
She said, distribution of fertilizer to farmers is the best thing to do as the people are in need of the commodity owing to the fact that, fertilizer has become more valuable than gold due to it’s price in the market, that many cannot afford to buy making their crops to whither.
Earlier before the flagoff, the Member and his entourage paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Highness the Chief of Jaba at his Palace in Kwoi, where the Chief gave the Member his blessings, and admonished all the people of his Chiefdom to go back to the farm, and prayed to God to grant the people adequate rainfall and good harvest.
