The Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Barr. Sunday Marshall Katung, has on Thursday, donated food items to widows and orphans within his constituency.
Gurara Accord reports that the gesture was part of activities lined up to celebrate his 64th birthday anniversary and that of his mother.
It would be recalled that the Distinguished Senator celebrated his 64th birthday on the 1st of April, 2025.
Presenting the items separately at the Rafiki Orphanage Home, Ungwan Rimi Bajju, and ECWA Widows Training School, Samaru Kataf, the representative of the Senator and Minority Leader at the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Mr. Ali Kalat, said the gesture was a routine act of reaching out to the needy by Senator Katung.

He appreciated the staff and caregivers at the Rafiki Orphanage Home for the sacrifices they make in raising the children, who, in turn, look up to them for survival.
He also urged other well-meaning individuals to imbibe the spirit of giving to those in need, in order to attract more blessings from God.
Various speakers, including party leaders from the PDP, APC, and SDP, representatives of the clergy, and members of the Southern Kaduna Professors Forum, in their goodwill messages, applauded Senator Sunday Marshall Katung for choosing to celebrate his birthday with the needy.
Responding on behalf of the widows, Mrs. Mary Habila thanked Senator Katung and his mother for wiping away their tears and prayed for God’s abundant blessings upon them.

Earlier, the Principal of ECWA Widows Training School Samaru Kataf, Mrs. Sarah Bature, and the Coordinator of Rafiki Orphanage Home Ungwan Rimi Bajju, Mr. Cornelius Sam, while thanking the Senator for choosing their institutions, appealed to other wealthy individuals to invest in orphans and widows, as their prayers know no bounds.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Organising Committee and former Minority Whip at the House of Representatives, Mr. Gideon Luka Gwani, said the items distributed to both the Rafiki Orphanage Home and the ECWA Widows Training School Samaru Kataf included 40 bags of rice, 50 packs of spaghetti, 50 cartons of noodles, and 50 bags of semolina.
