Hon. Timothy Sherman Adamu, former gubernatorial candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) in the 2023 general elections, has formally announced his resignation from the party and defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a resignation letter dated May 6, 2025, Adamu attributed his decision to the inclusive governance style of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani. He praised the APC-led administration for what he described as “practical inclusiveness” and notable strides in infrastructure development, improved security, and human capital advancement across the state and his zone.

“Governor Uba Sani has truly kept to the promises he made, especially when I led four other gubernatorial candidates to congratulate him after his victory in the 2023 polls,” Adamu stated. “I can no longer sit on the fence. It is time to join this great party, APC, to contribute to building a better and more prosperous Kaduna State and Nigeria.”

The former AA flagbearer also expressed gratitude to the leadership and members of the Action Alliance for their support during his time with the party, acknowledging the opportunity to contest under its platform.

He further appreciated his supporters, political associates, and loyalists who have decided to join him in the move to the APC, assuring them that the decision will not be regretted.

Adamu concluded the letter by returning his AA membership card and requesting acknowledgment of receipt.
