The Kaduna State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has strongly condemned the recent bandit attacks in Kagara and Ugom communities of Giwa and Kajuru Local Government Areas, respectively, which occurred on June 4 and 6, 2025.
According to local reports, the attacks claimed the lives of two community members—Salisu Aminu and Stephen Alhassan—while several others sustained injuries. The assailants also rustled cattle during the coordinated assaults, leaving both communities devastated.
In a statement issued by the party, Sir Edward Percy Masha, Kaduna State PDP Chairman and Chairman of the Forum of 19 Northern States and FCT PDP Chairmen, expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incidents.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families and communities of the deceased, and we pray for the swift recovery of those injured,” the statement read.
The PDP criticized what it described as the failure of both the state and federal governments to provide adequate security and protect the lives and property of citizens.
> “We call on Governor Uba Sani and the APC-led administration in Kaduna State to urgently reassess its security strategies, reawaken the dormant Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, and strengthen collaboration with federal security agencies,” the statement continued.
The party also called for immediate intervention from state agencies, including the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, to provide urgent relief and support for affected residents.
Reaffirming its role as the leading opposition voice in the state, the PDP pledged to hold the ruling APC accountable and urged the people of Kaduna to remain calm and hopeful.
> “We remain committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens. A new dawn is possible, and we ask the people of Kaduna to remain patient and resilient as we work towards real change in 2027,” Sir Edward concluded.
