The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State has commended the peaceful and transparent conduct of its recent primary elections across key constituencies, describing it as a testament to the party’s growing internal democracy and unity.
In an official statement signed by the State Party Chairman, Sir Edward Percy Masha, the PDP congratulated Muazu Salisu Danyaro, Abdullahi Mamuda Wappah, and Esther Ashuvelli Dawaki for emerging as the party’s flagbearers for Basawa, Zaria Kewaye, and Chikun/Kajuru State and Federal Constituencies, respectively.
“We commend the delegates for making a wise and forward-looking choice by electing young, vibrant candidates,” the statement read. “The transparency demonstrated by the electoral committee throughout the process is highly commendable and sets the tone for the general elections.”
The party also praised all eight aspirants—four each for the Kaduna State House of Assembly and House of Representatives—for their sportsmanship and peaceful conduct during the primaries, adding that their maturity and cooperation will play a crucial role in the PDP’s projected victory on August 16, 2025.
“To the entire PDP family and supporters, we say thank you for your unwavering trust in our leadership. Now is the time to rally around our candidates and work towards a sweeping victory across the three constituencies,” Masha added.
He further disclosed that the party’s campaign council will be unveiled in the coming days, with vigorous grassroots campaigning set to commence immediately.
“As we have consistently promised, the PDP under my leadership will ensure that your votes count and are counted,” the statement concluded.
Sir Edward Masha also serves as Chairman of the Forum of PDP Chairmen from the 19 Northern States and the FCT.
