The Chief of Moro’a, His Highness Mr. Isiaku Tagwai Sambo, has conferred the traditional title of Walin Moro’a on Barrister Samuel Atung, SAN, in recognition of his outstanding track record, dedication, and commitment to the development and progress of Moro’a Chiefdom.

The announcement was contained in an official letter signed by Barrister Iliya Bernard Avong, Secretary of the Moro’a Traditional Council, dated October 2, 2025. According to the letter, the conferment of the title takes effect immediately.
The council described Barr. Atung as a worthy son of the land whose contributions to legal practice, community service, and human development have continued to bring pride to the people of Moro’a Chiefdom.
The letter directed the Senior Advocate of Nigeria to formally indicate his acceptance of the honour within one week of receiving the notification.
The Chief of Moro’a, His Highness Mr. Sambo, noted that the traditional institution holds Barr. Atung in high esteem and expressed confidence that his elevation to the prestigious title of Walin Moro’a would further strengthen his commitment to the service of the community.
