Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has approved the appointment of Mr. Bature Sunday Likoro as the new Agwom Kamuru, following the death of His Highness, Mr. Yohanna Sidi Kukah, on December 18, 2024.
The announcement was contained in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos, on Tuesday. The statement noted that Mr. Likoro has been appointed as a 3rd Class Chief.
According to the statement, the new Agwom Kamuru was born on August 15, 1958, and holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Administration from Kaduna Polytechnic.
Hon. Lagos described Mr. Likoro as a respected community leader who commands significant influence in his locality, owing to his outstanding record of public service and commitment to community development.
While the appointment takes immediate effect, the Commissioner disclosed that arrangements for the installation ceremony and presentation of staff of office will be announced in due course.
Governor Uba Sani congratulated the new Agwom Kamuru on his well-deserved appointment and wished him success and divine guidance as he assumes his new role.
