Fifteen members of the Ungwan Nungu community in Bokana Ward, Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State, were kidnapped on Saturday, November 29, 2025, while returning home from their farms. The incident has triggered fresh concerns over rising insecurity across rural communities in the area.

Hon. Daniel Amos, Member of the House of Representatives for Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, in a statement issued on Tuesday, expressed deep regret over the attack, describing it as “cruel and senseless.”

He condemned the abduction of peaceful farmers who he said were merely struggling to earn a living. “Targeting hardworking community members is unacceptable and must not be tolerated under any circumstance. Our people deserve to live without fear,” he said.

The lawmaker urged residents of Ungwan Nungu, Bokana Ward, and neighbouring communities to remain calm and avoid panic or retaliatory actions, warning that such responses could worsen the situation. Instead, he appealed for unity, vigilance, and close cooperation with security agencies.

Hon. Amos called on security operatives to intensify their search-and-rescue efforts and ensure the swift arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators. He emphasized the need for intelligence-led operations, improved surveillance, and coordinated responses to reassure affected communities.

To the families of the abducted victims, he extended his sympathy and solidarity, assuring them that every possible effort would be made to secure the safe return of their loved ones.

“The safety and wellbeing of our people remain paramount,” he stated, expressing confidence that with determination and collective resolve, peace would be restored to the constituency.
