The Emir of Jama’a, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammadu Isa Muhammadu II (OFR, CON), on Saturday, December 6, 2025, conferred revered traditional titles on three distinguished personalities.
The ceremony, held at the historic Jama’a Emirate Palace in Kafanchan, Kaduna State, drew a large crowd of dignitaries, traditional rulers, political leaders and residents who gathered to witness the colourful and culturally rich event.

Among the honourees was former Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency Dr. Muktar Ramalan Yero, who was bestowed with the prestigious title of Sardaunan Jama’a.
While former Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Sen. (Dr.) Danjuma Tella Laah, was conferred with the title of Majikiran Jama’a and Barrister (Dr.) Deborah Sale Usman received the title of Jarumar Jama’a, a recognition of her accomplishments in law, community service, and her passion for women and youth empowerment.

Speaking shortly after receiving her title, Barr. Usman expressed profound gratitude to the Emir and the entire Jama’a Emirate Council for what she described as a great honour. She noted that the recognition would further inspire her to intensify her efforts in ppromoting peaceful coexistence.
“I am deeply humbled by this honour. The Jama’a Emirate has shown great confidence in me, and I will continue to work tirelessly to support initiatives that foster unity, peace and development,” she said.
She also pledged to initiate more programmes aimed at empowering women across the Kaduna South Senatorial District, stressing that women remain vital contributors to community advancement.
The Emirate ceremony featured traditional music, cultural displays and goodwill messages, reinforcing the rich heritage of Southern Kaduna people. The event further highlighted the Emir’s commitment to honouring individuals whose efforts align with the values of peace, unity and community development.
