Kamurum Integrated Farms has empowered more than 120 women entrepreneurs in Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State through a targeted economic initiative designed to strengthen Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the locality.

The programme, tagged “Upscaling Women-Owned SMEs in Jaba Local Government,” held on Thursday at the Ham Event Center in Kwoi, brought together women business owners from the ten wards across the council area.

Gurara Accord gathered that the initiative forms part of Kamurum Integrated Farms’ sustained commitment to rural development and women-focused economic inclusion, especially in communities with limited access to financial support and business expansion opportunities.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of Kamurum Integrated Farms, Rijo Shekari, who is also seeking the APC ticket for the Zangon Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 elections, said the empowerment reflects his belief that women are central to sustainable community development.

He stated that strengthening women-owned enterprises contributes to more stable households, vibrant local markets and a resilient economy. Shekari also thanked Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani for championing the Kaduna Peace Model, which he said has restored peace to previously troubled areas, enabling businesses to thrive.

In her goodwill message, Mrs. Fatu Gyet Maude, Wife of the Paramount Ruler of Ham, commended Kamurum Integrated Farms and Shekari for championing women’s empowerment in Jaba. She described the programme as a significant step toward equipping women to contribute meaningfully to community advancement.

Mrs. Maude urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the support received to grow their businesses, adding that the palace remains committed to backing initiatives that empower women, promote peace and accelerate social and economic progress. She also called on other individuals and organisations to emulate such people-centered interventions.

Some beneficiaries expressed gratitude, describing the empowerment as life-changing and a boost to their productivity, family welfare and economic participation.

Each beneficiary received ₦105,000, underscoring Kamurum Integrated Farms’ growing reputation as a key agribusiness player with a strong focus on community impact across Southern Kaduna.
