The Principal Partner of Gatekeepers Consult, Mr. Samuel Atung SAN, has described the Igbo people as a resilient, hardworking and highly enterprising group whose contributions continue to drive economic growth and social development across Nigeria.

Atung made this remark while speaking at the end-of-year family get-together organised by Otuokalwu Ndigbo of Kaduna, held in Kaduna. The colourful event drew members of the Igbo community, professionals, business leaders and invited guests, in a celebration of unity, culture and peaceful coexistence.

According to the Senior Advocate of Nigeria, the Igbo are widely known for their entrepreneurial spirit, resilience in the face of challenges and strong work ethic, qualities which, he noted, have earned them respect and relevance in every part of the country where they reside. He commended the Igbo community in Kaduna for their commitment to peaceful living, economic enterprise and positive engagement with their host communities.

Mr. Atung, who attended the event alongside his wife, Honourable Justice Dorcas Atung of the Kaduna State Customary Court of Appeal, also used the occasion to address young professionals, particularly members of the legal profession. He cautioned lawyers who aspire to go far in their careers to remain steadfast in observing the principles, rules and ethics that guide legal practice in Nigeria.

He stressed that integrity, discipline and respect for professional ethics remain the cornerstone of success and credibility in the legal profession, warning that shortcuts and unethical conduct ultimately damage both personal reputation and the justice system as a whole.

The event featured cultural music, goodwill messages and reflections on the importance of unity in diversity. Leaders of Otuokalwu Ndigbo of Kaduna expressed appreciation to Mr. Atung and other guests for honouring the invitation, noting that the gathering was aimed at strengthening family ties, promoting cultural heritage and fostering harmonious coexistence among communities in Kaduna State.

The organisers reaffirmed their commitment to peace, mutual respect and continued contribution to the socio-economic development of Kaduna State and Nigeria at large.
