A group of concerned citizens from Kafanchan, under the Jama’a Emirate, has issued a passionate appeal to the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, urging immediate action on an abandoned road project initiated during the administration of former Governor Nasir El-Rufai.

In an open letter signed by Aliyu Sa’id Tahir on behalf of the citizens, the group expressed deep frustration over the government’s silence and inaction regarding the deteriorating state of the road infrastructure. The incomplete project, they said, has continued to cause significant hardship to the people of Kafanchan.
“This is not a political letter,” the statement clarified. “We are not motivated by partisanship or aligned interests. We speak as concerned citizens who cannot sit by while a major public infrastructure project is left to decay.”
The letter emphasized the negative impact the abandoned project has had on the daily lives of residents, citing poor commuting conditions, disruption to local businesses, delayed emergency response services, and overall economic decline in the area.
The group challenged Governor Uba Sani to demonstrate responsive leadership by taking decisive steps to revive and complete the road project.
“True leadership is demonstrated by commitment to action — especially in communities that feel forgotten. Kafanchan deserves better,” the statement read.
With the 2027 general elections approaching, the citizens also reminded the governor that his legacy would be judged not by intentions or campaign promises, but by the tangible results of his administration.
The group issued three clear demands:
* A public update on the status of the Kafanchan road project.
* A specific timeline for its resumption and completion.
* Full accountability for the delay, including clarification on the roles of contractors and supervising agencies.

The open letter concluded with a call for urgent and dignified action, stating that the people of Kafanchan are watching and history will take note of the governor’s decisions.
