Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Barr. Sunday Marshall Katung, has commenced the construction of a world-class Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) in Ghauta Community, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The project, which is currently at an advanced stage, is part of Senator Katung’s ongoing efforts to improve access to quality and affordable healthcare services for constituents, particularly residents of rural communities.

The initiative is expected to bring essential healthcare services closer to residents of Ghauta and surrounding communities, while addressing some of the challenges associated with access to maternal and child healthcare.

Members of the Ghauta Community have expressed appreciation for the project, describing it as a significant and potentially life-saving intervention and the first major healthcare facility of its kind initiated by an individual in the community.

Upon completion, the facility is expected to provide improved access to antenatal care and safe childbirth services, thereby contributing to efforts to reduce maternal and child mortality in the area.

Senator Katung reaffirmed his commitment to prioritising the health and wellbeing of the people of Kaduna South, stressing that access to quality healthcare should be regarded as a fundamental right rather than a privilege.

The lawmaker said he would continue to support initiatives capable of improving the living conditions and wellbeing of his constituents.
