A strong call has gone out to young people across Southern Kaduna to actively participate in the forthcoming 2027 general elections by contesting for political positions and reclaiming spaces long dominated by older politicians.

The appeal, made on Thursday by youth advocate Edward John Auta Pama, urges politically aware and community-driven young men and women from all parties to rise and pursue elective offices at every level. He emphasized that the region can no longer afford to allow “spent forces” to occupy positions meant to serve as training grounds for emerging leaders.

Pama noted that many young people in the region have, for too long, been relegated to the role of bystanders, cheering from the sidelines while older or retired politicians dominate seats in the State House of Assembly, the House of Representatives, and other key offices.

However, he clarified that the call is not for every young person, but for those who possess the competence, discipline, and track record required for credible representation.

“We seek young people with emotional intelligence, intellectual depth, and the courage to serve with excellence,” he said. “We need those who can work across generations, transform ideas into action, and turn vision into measurable results.”

He further stressed that ideal candidates must have a history of political involvement or community service, demonstrating a verifiable commitment to the growth and progress of Southern Kaduna.

Pama expressed optimism as 2027 approaches, describing the upcoming election year as a pivotal moment for youth inclusion and leadership.

“2027 is surely our year, and together, we will win,” he declared.
