In keeping with a tradition dear to his heart, the Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Distinguished Sunday Marshall Katung, on Wednesday celebrated his birthday with orphans, widows, and other vulnerable persons across Southern Kaduna.

The senator donated food items, toiletries, soaps, detergents, and cash to three centres, stating that the gesture was aimed at supporting the underprivileged and vulnerable members of society.
The items were distributed at Rafiki Orphanage Home, the ECWA Widows Training School in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area, and the Gweimen Centre in Jaba Local Government Area.
At the various centres, Senator Katung explained that the initiative was borne out of his desire to assist vulnerable members of society.
Speaking at Rafiki Orphanage Home, the leader of the delegation, Hon. Yohanna Allahmagani, a former Commissioner for Local Government in Kaduna State, said the distribution was part of the lawmaker’s effort to promote unity, love, and kindness within his constituency.
He emphasized that celebrating in such a setting reflects a philosophy that prioritizes human connection over ceremony, and service over self.
Allahmagani reiterated Senator Katung’s belief that leadership must be measured by its impact on the most vulnerable members of society.
At the Widows Training Centre in Samaru Kataf, the team leader, Mrs. Comfort Amwe, a former member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, said the gesture was aimed at alleviating the hardship faced by widows and helping them navigate current economic challenges.

She also urged the beneficiaries to continue praying for the senator, asking God to grant him greater heights.
At the Gweimen Centre for vulnerable persons in Kwoi, Jaba Local Government Area, the team leader, Hon. Kingsley Musa, reiterated Senator Katung’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of his people, especially the underprivileged.
In their separate remarks, the Principal of the Widows Training School, Mrs. Sarah J. Bature, and the Executive Director of the Gweimen Centre, Dr. Beatrice Kadangs, expressed deep appreciation for the gesture, noting that words were insufficient to convey their gratitude.
They added that such generosity has helped sustain the centres and support vulnerable members of society, while praying for God’s continued blessings and elevation for the senator.
