A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State, Dr. Abdur-Rahman Usman, has officially resigned from the party.
In a resignation letter dated March 31, 2026, and addressed to the Chairman of PDP Badarawa-Malali Ward in Kaduna North Local Government Area, Dr. Usman stated that his decision takes immediate effect.
“I wish to bring to your attention my decision to quit with effect from today, the 31st day of March, 2026, as a member of the PDP,” the letter read.
Dr. Usman expressed gratitude to the party’s leadership and members for the relationship he built during his time in the PDP, noting that he would always cherish the experience.
He also wished the party well in its future endeavors.
The resignation letter was acknowledged as received by the ward chairman, identified as Muhammad el-Lawal.
While no reason was stated for his exit, the development adds to the ongoing political shifts within party structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
