A political stakeholder in Southern Kaduna, Edward John Auta Pama, has taken a swipe at former Senator Danjuma Laah, challenging him to publicly commit to working for the All Progressives Congress (APC) after the forthcoming senatorial primaries.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Pama accused Laah of inconsistency and divisive politics, while defending his own decision to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and align with the administration of Governor Uba Sani.

He dismissed claims by Laah’s media team that he was induced to defect, describing the allegations as false and misleading.

The statement alleged that Laah failed to support the PDP after losing the party’s 2022 primaries, instead working against its success in the senatorial election.

According to Edward Auta, despite such internal challenges, the PDP still went on to secure victory in the election.

The historian further claimed that Laah’s eventual defection to the APC did not attract significant followership, arguing that his influence in the zone had diminished.

He also criticized what he described as Laah’s limited political activities within the APC, including the formation of what he termed an “inconsequential” consultative forum.

Pama questioned Laah’s commitment to the ruling party, challenging him to point to any tangible effort made in mobilizing support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Uba Sani, or the APC.

He maintained that his own support for the APC and its leaders was driven by a belief in their development agenda, emphasizing his backing for the re-election of Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, Governor Uba Sani, and President Tinubu.

While acknowledging differences over who should emerge as the APC senatorial candidate, Pama cautioned against internal attacks, warning that such actions could weaken the party and strengthen the opposition.

He however, urged Laah to make a public pledge to support the APC after the primaries, stressing the need for unity among party stakeholders in Southern Kaduna.
