Katung made the declaration during the presentation of his stewardship report and inauguration of his campaign council, where he addressed stakeholders, traditional rulers, religious leaders, youths, women, and supporters from across the senatorial district.
The senator described the gathering as “a defining moment of accountability and renewed collective purpose,” while thanking the people of Southern Kaduna for the mandate given to him in 2023.
According to him, his representation at the National Assembly has focused on ensuring that Kaduna South remains visible and adequately represented in national affairs.
Among the major achievements highlighted by the senator was the establishment of the Federal University of Applied Sciences in Kachia, alongside a proposed College of Medicine in Manchok, which he said would stimulate economic growth and educational opportunities across the region.
He also pointed to the Federal Medical Centre in Kafanchan as another milestone capable of improving healthcare delivery, creating jobs, and boosting economic activities in Southern Kaduna.

In the area of youth empowerment and economic development, Katung said over 100 youths had been trained in ICT and vocational skills, while ICT centres had been established in Kafanchan and Zonkwa.
He further stated that more than 2,000 farmers had received support, including the distribution of over 5,000 bags of fertiliser.
On education and social support, the senator said over 800 students had benefited from scholarships and educational assistance, while hundreds of examination fees were paid for indigent students.
He also noted that 174 persons living with disabilities had received support under his intervention programmes.
Katung revealed that his office facilitated employment opportunities in federal agencies and supported recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force for youths from the district.
The senator disclosed that over ₦10 billion had so far been attracted into Southern Kaduna through projects and interventions, adding that another ₦7.2 billion worth of projects had already been captured in the 2026 budget.
According to him, the projects include classroom construction, ICT centres, rural roads, market projects, hostels, road grading, and a proposed 700-seater ICT Training and CBT Centre in Zonkwa valued at over ₦900 million.
He also announced a ₦10 billion partnership with an international health-based NGO aimed at supplying medical equipment and consumables to 10 secondary healthcare facilities across the district.
