The Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, CON, has appointed the former Managing Director of the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC), Ben S. D. Kure, as the new Honourable Commissioner for Sports Development.
Kure, who expressed gratitude to God for what he described as another remarkable elevation, also thanked Governor Uba Sani for the confidence reposed in him through the appointment.
In a statement following his appointment, Kure pledged to serve diligently and justify the confidence placed in him by the governor and the people of Kaduna State.
He said his priority would be to contribute meaningfully to the development of sports and the empowerment of youths across the state.
“I accept this responsibility with humility and a firm commitment to serve diligently, justify the confidence placed in me and contribute meaningfully to the development of sports and the empowerment of our youths across Kaduna State,” he said.
The new commissioner also expressed appreciation to his family, loved ones and friends for their prayers, encouragement and support, describing their goodwill as a major source of strength.
Kure prayed for wisdom, strength and divine grace to discharge his responsibilities faithfully and make a lasting impact in the sports sector.
His appointment follows the resignation of Professor Benjamin Guwong, who vacated the position to pursue his political ambition ahead of the 2027 general elections, where he is expected to contest for the Federal House of Representatives seat representing Kaura Constituency.
