The Southern Kaduna Journalists’ Forum (SKJF) has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Ms. Lydia Kalat Musa as Chairman of the Governing Board of the Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA), describing the move as a bold step toward inclusive governance and national integration.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Ango Bally, the Forum expressed deep appreciation to the President, noting that the appointment reflects a commendable recognition of Southern Kaduna and other historically marginalized regions.
“The Forum views this appointment as a significant and commendable gesture of inclusion. It marks a welcome shift towards equitable representation under the leadership of President Tinubu and fulfills a long-standing aspiration for national unity,” the statement read.
Ms. Musa, an accomplished administrator from Kaduna State, is widely acknowledged for her expertise in public service and her contributions to the oil and gas sector. Her appointment, according to the Forum, is a strategic fit for the objectives of the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“She brings to the role a wealth of experience, sharp intellect, sound judgment, and visionary leadership — qualities essential for steering OGFZA’s mandate of attracting investment, driving operational efficiency, and boosting the development of Nigeria’s oil and gas free zones,” the Forum stated.
The SKJF also urged Ms. Musa to serve as a worthy ambassador of Southern Kaduna by demonstrating the region’s resilience, talent, and leadership potential on the national stage.
“Southern Kaduna remains grateful to President Tinubu for acknowledging the region’s capacity to contribute meaningfully to national development,” the statement added.
Reaffirming its motto, “Advocacy for Inclusive Development,” the Forum pledged to continue its professional commitment to promoting equity, justice, and democratic values while supporting initiatives that foster unity and national progress under the Tinubu-led administration.
