The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a stern warning to members engaging in anti-party activities, particularly those publicly endorsing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election in 2027.
In a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the NWC expressed deep concern over persistent public outbursts and declarations of support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) by some prominent PDP members. The committee described such actions as a direct violation of the party’s constitution and a serious threat to its stability.
Quoting Section 10(6) of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017), the NWC reminded members that “no member of the party shall align with other parties or groups to undermine the party or any of its elected government.”
The committee noted that the ongoing anti-party activities have caused divisions, disaffection, and an exodus of members, with the potential to damage the PDP’s electoral fortunes if not immediately addressed.
Invoking Section 59(1) of the PDP Constitution, the NWC issued a strong reprimand to those involved and cautioned them to retrace their steps or face more severe sanctions.
The statement also called on all members to remain loyal and focused ahead of the party’s National Convention, scheduled for November 15–16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
