Gwong Traditional Council Confers Chieftaincy Title of Njit Gwong on Nathan Dyagas Umaru

The Gwong Traditional Council has conferred the prestigious chieftaincy title of Njit Gwong (Tamraro Kagoma) on Mr. Nathan Dyagas Umaru in recognition of his outstanding contributions to education, youth empowerment, and community development.

In an official letter signed by the Kpop Gwong, His Royal Highness P.Z. Wyom, the Council praised Umaru for providing scholarships to underprivileged students, creating opportunities for qualified youths, and participating actively in community development initiatives that have positively impacted numerous families across Jema’a Local Government Area, Kaduna State, and Nigeria at large.

“The Gwong Traditional Council has taken particular interest in recognizing your contributions. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed,” the letter stated.

The Kpop Gwong noted that Umaru’s philanthropic and leadership ideals reflect values that the community deeply esteems, adding that the conferment serves as encouragement for further service.

The turbanning ceremony is scheduled to hold on December 20, 2025 in Kagoma, where the honour will be formally bestowed.

On behalf of the Traditional Council and the entire Gwong people, the Kpop Gwong extended warm congratulations to Umaru on the conferment of the new title.
