Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, has congratulated Mr. Bature Sunday Likoro on his appointment as the new Agwom Kamuru of Kamuru Chiefdom in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area.
The appointment follows the passing of the former Agwom Kamuru, His Highness Yohanna Sidi Kukah, on December 18, 2024.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Senator Katung described Mr. Likoro’s appointment as well deserved, expressing confidence that the new traditional ruler would bring his wealth of experience and leadership qualities to bear in promoting peace, unity, and development in Kamuru Chiefdom.
He noted that Mr. Likoro’s distinguished record of service and reputation as a respected technocrat with wide connections across Kaduna State would help strengthen harmony and progress within the chiefdom and the larger Kaduna South Senatorial District.
The senator also commended Governor Uba Sani, the Kamuru kingmakers, and other stakeholders for what he called a “wise and timely decision” in selecting a capable and deserving leader.
“On behalf of the good people of Kaduna South Senatorial District, I congratulate the new Agwom Kamuru and pray that Almighty God grants His Highness wisdom, peace, and prosperity throughout his reign,” Senator Katung stated.
