The Coalition of Southern Kaduna Support Groups, under the umbrella of the Karkara Ta Asiwaju da Uba Sani Organization, has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing retired military chief, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, as the new Minister of Defense.

The group made the declaration on Thursday during a press conference held in  Kaduna.

The convener, Mr. Jonah Bonet Pompo described the appointment of Gen. Musa as “timely, strategic and a reflection of President Tinubu’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture.”

He noted that Musa—an accomplished commander and proud son of Kaduna State—had proven his capacity and patriotism during his service as Chief of Defence Staff.

The coalition also commended Governor Uba Sani for what it described as his “key role” in lobbying for the nomination, adding that the governor had consistently demonstrated empathy, courage, and strategic leadership since assuming office in 2023.

“The synergy between Mr. President, Governor Uba Sani and General Musa has already yielded visible impact, particularly in stabilizing communities and improving local security responses,” the statement said.

According to the group, the ministerial appointment is expected to deepen security collaboration between the federal and state governments, enhance intelligence sharing, and strengthen nationwide military readiness.

The coalition urged Nigerians across political, ethnic, and religious lines to continue supporting President Tinubu’s administration, especially as economic and security reforms begin to show signs of long-term stability.

It also praised Governor Uba Sani for prioritising inclusive governance and placing citizens’ welfare at the heart of his administration.

“With a competent Minister of Defense now in place, we have strong reasons to anticipate significant improvements in national security,” the statement added.

The coalition reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani, praying for continued peace and progress in Kaduna State and Nigeria at large.
