The Principal Partner of Gatekeepers Consult, Mr. Samuel Atung SAN, has said that Nigeria’s security situation, particularly in Kaduna State, has witnessed noticeable improvement under the administration of Governor Uba Sani.

Atung made the assertion while delivering a goodwill message at the end-of-year get-together organised by Otuokalwu Ndigbo in Kaduna. The event brought together members of the Igbo community, professionals and guests to reflect on the year and promote unity and peaceful coexistence.

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria noted that his assessment was not driven by political considerations, stressing that he does not approach national issues from the standpoint of a politician. Rather, he said his views were based on empirical facts, statistics and comparative analysis drawn from his professional background as a lawyer.

According to him, the current security situation in Kaduna State and across the country reflects the determination of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration to confront terrorism, banditry and other forms of insecurity that have plagued many parts of Nigeria in recent years.

He acknowledged that while the country has not yet attained the desired level of security, there has been measurable progress when compared with previous administration of President Muhammadu Buhari and Gov. Nasir el-Rufai. Atung said the improvements recorded so far underscore renewed commitment and strategic efforts by the present leadership at both the federal and state levels.

The legal luminary further observed that when the present situation is compared with earlier administrations, both at the state level under former Governor Nasir el-Rufai and the current Governor Uba Sani, as well as at the federal level under Previous regimes, there are clear indications of gradual but significant gains in addressing insecurity. He attributed the improved security situation to the all inclusive style of Governance at the Federal and State levels, thereby giving all segments of the society a sense of belonging which breeds love for country and patriotism in the citizenry.

Mr. Atung urged citizens to reciprocate this gesture by supporting ongoing efforts by government and security agencies, noting that sustainable peace and security require collective responsibility, patience and cooperation from all segments of society.
