In a press statement issued by Yabo Chris Ephraim, Special Adviser on Media to the Chairman of  Zango-Kataf Local Government, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Francis A. Sani on Tuesday, 10th October, 2023, when he began the distribution of 2,259 bags of Rice in the LG.
According to Ephraim, the Executive Chairman of Zangon Kataf Local Government Council,  Rt. Hon. (Dr.)  Francis A. Sani (FCNA) has flagged off the distribution of palliative to vulnerable families in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area today, 10/10/2023 at the Local Government Secretariat.
Speaking during the flag-off, the Chairman explained that the targeted beneficiaries are orphans, widows, people living with disabilities, and vulnerable families especially those affected by crises in our local government. The list of beneficiaries is drawn from the 11 Wards of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area with special consideration to the aforementioned categories of people, who are facing more hardship as a result of the consequential effect of the fuel subsidy removal. Each Ward Councilor will supervise the onward distribution in his Ward, including the orphanage in Rafiki and the widow’s school in Samaru.
The palliative which is designed by the Federal Government to cushion the effect of the fuel subsidy removal is expected to come in batches, and the Local Government will ensure that subsequent batches cover more vulnerable families whom this initial distribution did not reach.
