Leaders and stakeholders from Southern Kaduna have commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, for what they described as sustained and sincere efforts to address insecurity in the state and across Nigeria.
The commendation was made on Thursday at a press conference addressed by the National President of the Southern Kaduna People, Engr. Tabara Samuel Kato, following Governor Uba Sani’s visit to Kurmin Wali community in Kajuru Local Government Area after a recent bandit attack.
According to Kato, Governor Uba Sani’s visit to Kurmin Wali on Sunday, January 18, 2026, was both historic and reassuring, noting that he is the first sitting governor to personally visit the community after such an incident.
“Governor Uba Sani took time to commiserate with the affected community and issued immediate directives for intervention, including road construction, improved healthcare services, enhanced security presence and other critical infrastructure,” Kato said.
He added that the governor’s swift response demonstrated empathy, leadership and a commitment to restoring confidence among communities affected by banditry and kidnappings.
The Southern Kaduna leadership also praised President Tinubu for his “untiring and concerted efforts” in deploying security mechanisms to protect lives and property since assuming office, while acknowledging that security challenges remain complex and multifaceted.
While commending both the federal and state governments, the group urged them to intensify efforts toward securing the safe release of abducted victims and to sustain a decisive crackdown on bandits and kidnappers across Kaduna State and the country at large.
The group further expressed appreciation to President Tinubu over what it described as notable developmental strides nationwide, with special reference to the recent appointment of retired General Christopher Gwabin Musa as Minister of Defence.
Kato also referenced growing public calls across the country for Gen. Musa to be considered as a future presidential running mate to President Tinubu, saying the Southern Kaduna people welcomed and supported such sentiments.
“We appreciate this gesture by Nigerians and, with humility, embrace and support it while praying for its success,” he said.
The press conference ended with a declaration of continued loyalty and support for President Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani, as the Southern Kaduna people pledged to stand by both leaders in their efforts to improve security and governance.
