Tax Advocacy: KADIRS partners Tax Justice Network

In tandem with the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani drive in the provision of critical infrastructures in Kaduna State through timely payment of taxes and revenue to the state government, the Acting Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service, Mr. Jerry Adams partners with Tax Justice Network on Media in enhancing media advocacy for the benefits of educating the citizens and the taxpayers on the need to support the SUSTAIN Agenda of the Gov. Sani-led administration.

 

The Acting Executive Chairman who was represented by the Executive Director Revenue Operations, Dr. Muhammad Lawal at the parley and pledged to continue working with all media practitioners and will always open his doors for a meaningful engagement around tax education and advocacy in a bid to strengthen voluntary tax compliance in the State. 

 

The media round table engagement meeting is aimed at :-

1. To increase the understanding of media partners on IGR and revenue advocacy

2. To increase the capacity of media partners on reporting taxes and other tax related issues.

3. To receive feedback from taxpayers through the media partners on revenue administration.

4. To emphasize the crucial role of media partners on advocating for voluntary tax compliance.

5. To enlist the support of media partners for a robust reportage of tax system and KADIRS activities such as tax operation.

 

In his remarks, the Coordinator of Tax Justice Network and Governance Forum in Kaduna State Mr. Simon Olatunde promised to galvanize media practitioners to Advocate for more enlightenment on various taxes and revenue in the State, through stakeholders engagement, radio programs media round table engagement in order to support the KADIRS to attain the set target in revenue generation.

 

However, the session had the representatives of Invicta FM Radio, Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC), People’s Daily Newspaper, Nagarta Radio, Radio Nigeria Kaduna, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), African Independent Television (AIT), Leadership Newspaper, Daily Trust Newspaper, Liberty TV and Radio, Supreme FM Radio, KADIRS Head of Corporate Communications and his Team.
