A member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Amanda Tanko Usman, has called on Christians and Muslims observing Lent and Ramadan to embrace love, sacrifice, and prayers for peace and security in Kaduna State and Nigeria as a whole.
In a statement issued to Gurara Accord on Wednesday, Tanko Usman described the coincidence of the two religious observances as a unique opportunity for spiritual renewal and the strengthening of unity and brotherhood among the people.
She expressed optimism that the joint fasting period would further reinforce the peace and security efforts of the Governor Uba Sani-led administration, which she said has been working tirelessly to restore stability across the state.
The APC chieftain urged adherents of both faiths to use the season for sober reflection and intercessory prayers for leaders at all levels of government.
According to her, citizens must continue to support their leaders irrespective of ethnic or religious differences, noting that prayers remain vital to the success of those entrusted with leadership responsibilities.
Tanko Usman also expressed satisfaction with the developmental strides recorded by the present administration, stating that peace has gradually returned to many parts of the state after years of insecurity.
She specifically commended Governor Uba Sani for his efforts in restoring normalcy to previously troubled communities across Kaduna State.
The APC member further appealed to Muslims and Christians to unite in prayers for the sustained success of the APC-led government at both state and national levels, stressing that collective support would enable the government to fulfill its mandate and improve the living standards of citizens.
While extending her goodwill to observers of both religious seasons, she wished Muslims a blessed Ramadan and Christians a spiritually rewarding Lenten period, urging all residents to sustain the values of love and sacrifice beyond the fasting period.
