Hon. Gideon Jock has emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flagbearer for the Jaba/Zango-Kataf Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections after securing 6,206 votes in the party’s House of Representatives primaries.

Jock recorded a landslide victory through the open ballot system, defeating his closest rival, Hon. Mathew Gwaza, who polled 113 votes, while Rijo Shekari came third with 83 votes.

Declaring the results, the Returning Officer for the PDP House of Representatives primaries in Jaba, Mr. Luka Nzalo, described the exercise as peaceful and rancour-free, expressing satisfaction with the conduct of delegates and electoral officials throughout the process.
Similarly, the Returning Officer for the Zango-Kataf axis, Mr. Solomon Dawah, commended the orderly and peaceful nature of the election, noting that the process reflected the democratic ideals of the party.

Speaking shortly after his emergence, Gideon Jock appreciated PDP leaders and party members for conducting what he described as one of the freest and fairest primaries in Kaduna State.

He said the transparent process allowed the will of party members to prevail and pledged to work towards the development of Jaba/Zango-Kataf Federal Constituency if elected.
Jock also extended an olive branch to his co-aspirants, Hon. Mathew Gwaza and Rijo Shekari, urging them to join forces with him in the interest of party unity and the overall development of the constituency, Kaduna State and Nigeria at large.
