Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Sam Atung, has said the people of Southern Kaduna owe President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani unprecedented electoral support in the 2027 general elections as a mark of appreciation for what he described as the dividends of democracy, landmark development projects and the inclusive style of governance being enjoyed in the region under their administrations.
Atung made the remarks on Saturday during the inauguration of the leadership structure of the APC Zone 3 One Million Solidarity Votes Movement in Kafanchan, an initiative by stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) aimed at mobilising support for the re-election of President Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani.
He said one of the greatest injustices any government can inflict on a people is to ostracise, alienate or exclude them from governance, noting that Southern Kaduna experienced such marginalisation under the previous administration.
“The greatest disservice you can do to a people is to ostracise them from the governance of their society, as happened to us under the past administration. The all-inclusive governance currently being run by Governor Uba Sani has given our people a renewed sense of belonging,” Atung said.
He described the support for President Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani as a “political I-owe-you,” insisting that the people of Southern Kaduna should reciprocate the gesture by delivering block votes to both leaders in the 2027 general elections.
Atung said the large turnout and enthusiasm that greeted the event reflected the appreciation of the people for the achievements of the current federal and state administrations.
According to him, the establishment of the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, and the Federal Medical Centre, Kafanchan, are landmark and transformative projects that demonstrate the commitment of the Tinubu and Uba Sani administrations to the development of Southern Kaduna.
“Politics is about delivering the dividends of democracy. The Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Kaduna State Government under Governor Uba Sani have given Southern Kaduna a Federal University in Kachia and a Federal Medical Centre in Kafanchan. What is left for us is to reciprocate these good gestures by voting them for a second term to consolidate on the good work they have started,” he added.
The event also featured the inauguration of the leadership structure of the APC Zone 3 One Million Solidarity Votes Movement, which is expected to coordinate grassroots mobilisation across Southern Kaduna ahead of the 2027 general elections.
