NCYP appoints Alhaji Ismail Yusuf Ashafa as patron, pledges support for Tinubu, Uba Sani

The Northern Christian Youth Professionals (NCYP), Kaduna State Chapter, has appointed Alhaji (Dr.) Ismail Yusuf Ashafa, the Sardaunan Ikulu, as its Patron in a move aimed at strengthening interfaith harmony and peaceful coexistence.


The appointment was announced during a ceremony held on Friday, July 10, 2026, at the Sardaunan Ikulu Foundation (SIF) Secretariat in Kaduna.

Presenting the Certificate of Appointment, NCYP National Chairman, Isaac Abrak, described the appointment of a respected Muslim leader as patron of a Christian youth organization as a demonstration of the group’s commitment to fostering unity, religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence across Kaduna State and Nigeria.

Abrak said the decision reflects NCYP’s belief that sustainable development and national progress can only thrive in an atmosphere of mutual respect and collaboration among people of different faiths.


Speaking at the event, the Kaduna State Coordinator of NCYP, Daniel John Dangba, pledged to mobilize the organization’s structures across the 23 Local Government Areas of Kaduna State in support of the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani.

In his response, Alhaji (Dr.) Ashafa expressed appreciation to the organization for the honour bestowed on him. He commended NCYP for its commitment to promoting peace, unity and interfaith harmony, describing such efforts as essential to strengthening national cohesion.
He also pledged to work closely with the organization in advancing its objectives and in support of the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani.
