The Southern Kaduna APC Unity Forum has welcomed the recent developments within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), particularly the withdrawal of membership by some of the party’s stakeholders and foundation members.

In a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Obadiah Tum Ezekiel, the Forum specifically called on Hon. Wilson Iliya Yangye, who recently announced his departure from the ADC, to return to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Forum described Yangye’s resignation from the ADC as significant, arguing that it reflected concerns it had previously raised about the opposition party and its political direction.

According to the statement, Yangye’s decision came less than 24 hours after the release of the ADC’s campaign structure in Kaduna State.

The Forum said it viewed the development as an indication of concerns over what it described as decisions by former Kaduna State governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Isa Ashiru, and other ADC stakeholders.

It alleged that some of the decisions did not sufficiently reflect the principles of unity, inclusion and fairness which, according to the Forum, Yangye has consistently advocated.

The group commended Yangye for what it described as a “principled decision” and urged him to return to the APC, which it referred to as his “original political home.”

The Forum said Yangye’s experience in politics, extensive contacts and mobilisation capacity could contribute to the growth of the APC in Southern Kaduna and Kaduna State generally.

It further noted that the APC has an established organisational structure across the country, which it said could provide a platform for experienced political actors to contribute to governance and political development.

The Forum also said Yangye’s political network, credibility and acceptability could add value to the Tinubu/Shettima and Uba Sani/Jerry Adams tickets, as well as other APC candidates in Southern Kaduna and across Kaduna State.

“At this critical moment, we believe that unity, inclusion, and collective purpose should remain at the heart of political engagement,” the statement said.

The Forum therefore declared its readiness to welcome stakeholders who share those values and are committed to the progress and development of Kaduna State.
