Insecurity in Nigeria is worrisome. The twist and turn of the debacle encompass human imagination. Though, the military under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government is putting monumenal effort by providing the needed firepower and pushing the bandits to the brink.
It is certain that the security situation under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration has had a quantum leap. There is no doubt that the situation has grown from being messier to controllable under the watch of the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa.
Irrespective of the fact that there are alot of inconsistency in nipping the belligerent rascality and onslaught following some of the operational challenges faced by military, many Nigerians including notable Northern political figures like Senator Shehu Sani believed that the situation under President Tinubu is better than it used to be in the past including the erstwhile regime of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Senator Sani made it clear in a statement he posted via his Twitter(X) account today, 9th January, 2024. The comment reads below:
“Just when we felt safer, yesternight kidnappers returned to the Kaduna Abuja road. They blocked the road abducted some scores of persons around 9pm near Kateri village. Two of my Honorable friends from both the ruling and opposition parties had to run through the bush like Usain Bolt. But despite this incidence, there is stronger security presence along the route than it used to be in the past.”
Shehu Sani is a Nigerian senator, an author, a playwright, and a human rights activist. He is the president of the Civil Rights Congress of Nigeria. and the Chairman of Hand-in-Hand, Africa. He was a leading figure in the struggle for the restoration of democracy in Nigeria.
