The grand finale of the 2025 edition of the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa Peace and Unity Cup was held on Sunday, July 6, at the historic Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna, drawing an enthusiastic crowd of football lovers, community leaders, and top government functionaries in a celebration of sportsmanship, peace, and unity.
The event, organised by the Office of the CDS in collaboration with the Kaduna State Ministry of Sports Development, was graced by dignitaries from across the state. The Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, was represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Environment, Alhaji Abubakar Buba.
The CDS hosted the tournament and was present at the grand finale alongside his wife, Mrs. Oghogho Chris Musa.
The highlight of the event was a keenly contested final match between Zangon Kataf and Soba Local Government teams. Soba emerged champions of the 2025 edition with a narrow 1–0 victory in an encounter that drew football fans from across the state.

The CDS organised the tournament to promote peaceful coexistence and engage youths in meaningful activities, providing a platform for young talents to be discovered and harnessed positively as a means of livelihood.
The CDS Peace and Unity Cup is an annual grassroots initiative aimed at promoting peaceful coexistence, youth engagement, and community development through the unifying power of football. It has grown to become a symbol of hope and collective harmony across Kaduna State and beyond.
