The wife of the Minister of Defence, Mrs. Oghogho Christopher Musa, has called on widows to remain strong and resilient despite the challenges associated with their loss, urging them to embrace economic empowerment as a pathway to a better future.

Mrs. Musa made the call while chairing an economic empowerment programme for widows, tagged “Christmas with Widows at Christmas with Comrade Jerry Adams,” held in Manchok, Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The initiative was sponsored by the Chairman of the Kaduna State Inland Revenue Service, Comrade Jerry Adams, popularly described as the state’s tax czar, as part of efforts to support widows during the Christmas season.

Speaking at the occasion, Mrs. Musa, who is also the Immediate Past President of the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), encouraged the widows to remain hopeful and determined in spite of their new experiences.

She urged them to diligently pursue their businesses and livelihoods, expressing optimism that they would be better off when they meet again.

She commended Comrade Jerry Adams for his generosity and commitment to the welfare of widows, offering prayers and blessings for his continued support to the vulnerable.

Mrs. Musa also called on those present to emulate the love, care and generosity demonstrated by the sponsor, stressing the need for collective responsibility in supporting widows and other vulnerable groups in society.
