Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Barr. Sunday Marshall Katung, has called on aspirants, supporters, and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to embrace unity and peaceful conduct as the party begins its primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement, Katung described the primaries as a defining moment for the APC, urging members across Kaduna South to demonstrate love, respect, and commitment to the unity of the party.
He said the exercise should be seen as an opportunity to consolidate the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, in the zone.
The lawmaker cautioned against violence and divisive politics, stressing that elections should not be treated as a “do-or-die affair.”
Katung expressed confidence that the primaries would end without bitterness, noting that all party members would emerge winners if they rallied behind the eventual candidates to secure victory for the APC in the general elections.
He also commended Governor Uba Sani for what he described as exemplary leadership and efforts toward ensuring a peaceful, fair, and transparent process across the state.
The senator urged party faithful to rise above personal interests and work collectively to strengthen the APC as the preferred party for the people of Kaduna State and Nigerians at large.
