The SMK Nakowa Campaign Network has commended the Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, for what it described as his exemplary representation following the Senate’s second reading of the bill seeking to establish the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia Teaching Hospital in Manchok, Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
In a press statement signed by its Director of Media and Communications, Victor Dangana, the group described the development as a landmark achievement that reflects Senator Katung’s commitment to advancing healthcare, education and economic development in Southern Kaduna.
According to the statement, the proposed teaching hospital will serve as a clinical training centre for medical doctors, nurses and other health professionals while improving access to specialist healthcare services for residents of Southern Kaduna and neighbouring communities.
The group quoted Senator Katung as saying that, when fully established, the institution would create employment opportunities and strengthen the region’s healthcare delivery system.
The campaign network noted that the establishment of the teaching hospital would reduce the need for patients to travel long distances for specialist medical care, generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs, and position Manchok as a centre for medical education and professional training.
It also stated that the project would stimulate economic activities, attract businesses, improve infrastructure and enhance the profile of Kaura Local Government Area and Kaduna State.
The SMK Nakowa Campaign Network praised Senator Katung’s vision and dedication to bringing federal projects to Southern Kaduna, describing the proposed teaching hospital as a clear demonstration of effective representation.
The group reaffirmed its support for the senator and pledged to mobilise support for his re-election in the 2027 general election, expressing confidence that his continued leadership would ensure the completion of the project and other developmental initiatives.
