“NCYP now belongs to God. The leadership are merely instruments in His hands and must allow God to lead the group at all times.”
These were the words of Rev. (Dr.) Yohanna Buru, General Overseer of Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry, after he was appointed Patron of the Northern Christian Youth Professionals (NCYP).
Following the presentation of his Certificate of Appointment and other official paraphernalia by the National Chairman of NCYP, Isaac Abrak, alongside the Kaduna State Coordinator, Hon. Daniel John, Rev. (Dr.) Buru offered prayers of dedication, committing the group to God. He urged the leadership to obey God’s instructions at all times, whether convenient or not, saying the Word of God must remain the group’s guiding principle. He warned them never to engage in any form of evil, stressing that doing so would have catastrophic consequences for the group.
Earlier, while presenting the certificate, Abrak said Rev. (Dr.) Buru was honoured for his outstanding commitment to promoting Christian-Muslim unity in Kaduna State and Northern Nigeria. He described Rev. (Dr.) Buru’s lifelong advocacy for peaceful coexistence as worthy of emulation and in line with NCYP’s mission of fostering unity and national development.
Abrak added that at a time when insecurity and underdevelopment continue to challenge Northern Nigeria, stronger cooperation between Christians and Muslims remains essential to restoring peace, defeating insecurity, and accelerating the region’s development.
The presentation was also witnessed by the National Women Leader of NCYP, Madam Joan Ahmadu.
The leadership of NCYP expressed confidence that Pastor Yohanna Buru’s prayers, counsel, and mentorship will further strengthen the association’s commitment to serving God, promoting peaceful coexistence, and contributing to the development of Northern Nigeria and the nation at large.
