A prominent figure in Kaduna State politics, Prof. Muhammad Sani Bello, popularly known as Mainan Zazzau, has resigned his membership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) with immediate effect.
In a resignation letter dated July 21, 2026, and addressed to the Chairman of the ADC, Dogarawa Ward, Sabon Gari Local Government Area, Prof. Bello formally notified the party of his decision to withdraw his membership.
The letter, titled “Withdrawal of Membership,” reads in part: “This is to let you know of my decision to withdraw my membership of the ADC with immediate effect.”
Despite his exit from the party, Prof. Bello expressed appreciation for the relationship he enjoyed during his time in the ADC, describing it as mutually beneficial.
“I wish to place on record my appreciation for the mutually beneficial relationship that we shared during my membership of the Party,” he stated.
He concluded the letter by extending his best regards to the party leadership. Copies of the resignation letter were forwarded to the National Chairman and members of the ADC National Working Committee, the Kaduna State ADC Executive Committee, and the Sabon Gari LGA ADC Executives.
Prof. Bello’s resignation comes amid ongoing political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, although he did not state the reason for his decision or indicate his next political destination.
