The Northern Stakeholders Forum of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has hailed the Founder and President of Belema Oil Producing Limited, Engr. Tein Teibo Seliyefubara Jack-Rich, on the occasion of his 51st birthday.
In a congratulatory message issued on Tuesday, the group described Jack-Rich as a visionary entrepreneur, philanthropist and advocate of human capital development whose contributions to national growth remain outstanding.
Jack-Rich, who was born on January 28, 1975, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, was said to have risen from humble beginnings to become one of Nigeria’s leading indigenous players in the oil and gas sector through resilience, discipline and commitment to excellence.
The Forum noted that despite being orphaned at an early age, Jack-Rich pursued education with determination, obtaining a Diploma in Engineering Technology, a Higher National Diploma and a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. He also attended executive programmes at Harvard Business School, Cambridge University and the London School of Economics.
In his professional journey, Jack-Rich founded J+G Global Gas and Oilfield Limited in 1998 before establishing Belema Oil Producing Limited, reputed as Nigeria’s first indigenous oil exploration and production company. He has over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
Beyond business, the Forum commended his extensive philanthropic and humanitarian interventions across the country, including the provision of solar-powered water facilities and treatment plants, construction of hospitals, healthcare centres and schools, as well as agricultural mechanisation schemes for smallholder farmers and support for vulnerable communities.
The group also recalled that Jack-Rich was nominated for the national honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) by former President Muhammadu Buhari and was conferred with the traditional title of Sarkin Ruwan Hausa (The Water Provider) by the Daura Emirate.
Speaking on behalf of the Forum, its Chairman, Mr. Bagudu Joseph, said Jack-Rich’s life story remains a source of inspiration to Nigerian youths.
“His commitment to entrepreneurship, human capital development and philanthropy has continued to create positive impact across communities and serves as a model for young Nigerians,” he said.
The statement, jointly signed by Mr. Bagudu Joseph, Chairman of the Northern Stakeholders Forum, NYCN (former Vice President, North-West), and Comrade Almustapha Asuku, Secretary of the Forum (former National President, NYCN), wished Jack-Rich many more years of good health and service to humanity.
