Hon. Daniel Amos, Member representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has extended warm Lenten greetings to Christians across his constituency, urging them to embrace the season as a time of spiritual renewal, unity and compassion.

In a goodwill message made available to journalists on Wednesday, the lawmaker described Lent as a solemn period of prayer, fasting and repentance, calling on the faithful to use the season for deep reflection and recommitment to Christian values.

According to him, the forty-day Lenten journey provides an opportunity for believers to draw closer to God through introspection and renewed devotion, while also strengthening bonds of love and understanding within families and communities.

“Lent is a sacred time that calls us to quiet reflection, greater love for one another and a sincere return to the values of sacrifice, humility and compassion as exemplified by our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ,” he said.
Hon. Amos expressed hope that the period would bring peace to homes and strengthen the hearts of the people with hope and unity, especially at a time when the nation is in need of moral rebirth and collective responsibility.
He encouraged Christians in Jema’a and Sanga to remain steadfast in faith and to use the season to promote peace, tolerance and harmonious coexistence.

The lawmaker further prayed that the Lenten season would be spiritually enriching for all believers and would inspire positive change in personal lives and society at large.
