Senator Katung Sympathises with Jama’a Emirate Over Palace Fire

Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, who represents Kaduna South Senatorial District, has expressed sympathy with the Emir of Jama’a, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammadu Isa Muhammadu II, OFR, CON, following a fire outbreak at the Emir’s Palace in Kafanchan, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

In a statement, the Senator said he received news of the incident with shock and sorrow, describing it as painful given the cultural and historical importance of the palace to the Jama’a people and the wider Southern Kaduna community.

He noted that four flats within the palace complex were reportedly destroyed, including the wing occupied by the Emir’s mother, and described the palace as a symbol of heritage, unity and traditional leadership.

Senator Katung thanked Almighty Allah for the absence of casualties, saying the preservation of lives was a sign of divine protection over the Emir, the royal household and the community.

He praised the Emir for his calm and fatherly leadership, expressing confidence that the Jama’a Emirate would recover from the incident with renewed strength and unity.

The Senator also commended security personnel, local volunteers and sympathisers for their swift response in containing the fire and preventing further damage.

On behalf of the people of Kaduna South Senatorial District, Katung pledged continued support and solidarity with the Emir and the entire Jama’a Emirate.

He concluded by praying for long life, good health and wisdom for the Emir to continue guiding the Emirate toward peace and stability.
