A broad coalition of political stakeholders in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State has endorsed the member representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, Hon. Daniel Amos, for a second term in 2027, while rejecting recent zoning agitations by a group known as “Sanga Citizens of Conscience.”

The position was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of a townhall meeting organized by the Sanga Political Frontiers for Good Governance, held on Monday in Fadan Karshi.
The meeting, convened by Hon. Tanko Rossi, drew participants from all 11 political wards of Sanga LGA, including party leaders, legislative officials, aides, and other stakeholders across party lines to deliberate on the political future of the constituency.
Representatives of the Sanga LGA Executive Chairman, the member representing Sanga in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, the APC executive committee led by Chairman Yakubu Abubakar, and the Sanga Legislative Council led by Speaker David Ali Gwantu were among those in attendance.
Addressing the controversy over the zoning of the House of Representatives seat, the assembly dismissed the “Sanga Citizens of Conscience” as unrepresentative, stating that the group failed to consult widely across the 11 wards and therefore lacks legitimacy to speak on behalf of the people.
While affirming Sanga’s interest in the eventual rotation of the seat, the stakeholders emphasized that such arrangements must be achieved through dialogue and consensus with neighbouring Jema’a LGA, rather than through what they described as “media pressure” close to party primaries.
The communiqué also raised concerns about the composition of the agitating group, noting that it lacked broad-based representation across wards and ethnic groups within Sanga, thereby undermining its claim to advocate equity.
On performance, the meeting passed a vote of confidence in Hon. Amos, stating that his achievements in infrastructure, human capital development, and grassroots engagement within three years surpass those of many past representatives.
Consequently, the stakeholders unanimously endorsed Amos for re-election in 2027 and called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani to support his candidacy, suggesting he be allowed to run unopposed to sustain ongoing development.
The gathering further reaffirmed loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and pledged to mobilize support for the party’s victory in the 2027 general elections.
The communiqué concluded that the people of Sanga remain united, stressing that development and effective representation should take precedence over divisive political debates.
