Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, has been cleared by the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Assembly Screening Committee to contest the party’s senatorial ticket ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

The screening exercise, which took place in Abuja, evaluated the senator’s credentials, performance in office, and compliance with the party’s nomination guidelines.

Speaking with journalists after the screening, Katung expressed appreciation to the APC leadership and the people of Kaduna South Senatorial District for their continued support and confidence in his leadership.

“I am grateful to the APC for this clearance. It affirms that our records speak for us. We are ready to take our message of unity, progress, and verifiable results to every ward in Kaduna South Senatorial District,” he said.

The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the administration of Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, pledging to run an issue-based campaign ahead of the APC primaries.

Katung also disclosed plans to intensify consultations across the eight local government areas that make up the Kaduna South Senatorial District as part of preparations for the elections.

The statement announcing his clearance was signed by Midat Joseph, Special Adviser on Media and Communications to Senator Sunday Marshall Katung.
