Former APC aspirant for the Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency seat, Hon. Joyce Viyanto Atonza II, has withdrawn from the House of Representatives race and declared support for the re-election of the incumbent lawmaker, Hon. Daniel Amos.
Atonza announced her decision during a consultative engagement with party stakeholders and supporters, describing the move as one made in the interest of unity, patriotism and the collective progress of the constituency.
She thanked party faithful and supporters across Jema’a and Sanga Local Government Areas for the support she received following her declaration to contest for the Green Chamber seat, noting that her ambition was inspired by the desire to uplift vulnerable and disadvantaged groups within the constituency.
“After due consultation and dialogue, I have sincerely decided to officially withdraw from the House of Representatives race in support of the incumbent member representing our dear federal constituency, Hon. Dan Amos, for another term,” she said.
According to her, the decision was reached to strengthen unity within the APC and consolidate on the developmental strides being witnessed across communities in the constituency.
Hon. Atonza also commended the Kaduna State APC leadership for what she described as maturity, fairness and decorum during reconciliation efforts aimed at fostering party cohesion ahead of the elections.
She specifically acknowledged the roles played by Governor Uba Sani, Deputy Governor Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, APC State Chairman Atiku Sankey, Professor Bello Ayuba and other party leaders in promoting consensus and peace within the party.
Reaffirming her loyalty to the APC, Atonza pledged to work for the success of the party before, during and after the general elections, while urging her supporters to rally behind Daniel Amos.
“The ongoing Hon. Dan Amos project is and should remain our collective dream and aspiration for the emancipation of the downtrodden,” she stated.
She further called on APC members and residents of Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency to support the re-election of Hon. Daniel Amos and ensure victory for the APC across Southern Kaduna and Kaduna State.
