The Gwong Traditional Council has conferred the prestigious traditional title of Let Gwong (Garkuwan Gwong) on the Executive Chairman of Jema’a Local Government Area, Hon. Peter Tanko Dogara, in recognition of his contributions to education, youth empowerment and community development.
The conferment was conveyed in a letter dated July 2, 2026, signed by the Kpop Gwong, P.Z. Wyom, on behalf of the Gwong Traditional Council.

According to the council, Hon. Dogara’s efforts in providing scholarships to underprivileged students, creating job opportunities for qualified youths and supporting community development initiatives have had a significant positive impact on families across Gwong Chiefdom, Jema’a Local Government Area, Kaduna State and beyond.

The council stated that his outstanding contributions had not gone unnoticed, prompting the decision to honour him with the traditional title.

The letter explained that, by the powers vested in the Kpop Gwong by the Kaduna State Government and the Gwong community, Hon. Dogara was officially conferred with the title of Let Gwong (Garkuwan Gwong).
It expressed confidence that the recognition would inspire others to emulate his philanthropic spirit and exemplary leadership, which the traditional institution seeks to promote.

The Gwong Traditional Council also requested the Jema’a LG Chairman to formally indicate his acceptance of the honour ahead of his turbaning ceremony scheduled for November 7, 2026.
