House of Assembly aspirant for Zonkwa Constituency on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Comrade Danjuma Bello Sarki, has donated medical equipment and essential drugs to the Kaduna State Rural Hospital, Zonkwa, as part of efforts to improve healthcare delivery in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area.

The donation, which included hospital beds, an ECG machine, wheelchairs, mattresses, stethoscopes, blood pressure monitors, disinfectants and other medical supplies, was presented to the hospital on Monday.
Speaking during the presentation, Sarki said the intervention was motivated by the need to complement government’s efforts after identifying the challenges confronting the health facility.

He stressed that access to quality healthcare is a basic right of every citizen and pledged to continue mobilising support and partnerships to improve healthcare and educational infrastructure across Zonkwa Constituency.
Sarki also recalled that he had previously facilitated the establishment of a modern science laboratory at Government Technical College, Abet, through collaboration with a federal government agency, describing the project as part of his commitment to educational development.

The PDP House of Assembly hopeful assured residents that if elected in the 2027 general elections, he would prioritise legislation and advocacy aimed at strengthening healthcare services, improving education, empowering youths and accelerating rural development.
Receiving the items, the Chief Medical Director of the Kaduna State Rural Hospital, Zonkwa, Dr. Ezekiel Kwasu, commended Sarki for the donation, describing it as timely and impactful.
He, however, renewed his appeal to the Kaduna State Government to upgrade the facility to a General Hospital, noting that it now serves a growing population and receives referrals from neighbouring communities despite limited facilities and resources.

According to him, upgrading the hospital would improve access to quality healthcare, attract more medical personnel and enable the treatment of more specialised medical cases.
Also speaking, the Agwam Bajju, Mr. Luka Kogi Yabwat, represented by the Waziri Bajju, praised Sarki for what he described as responsive leadership and urged other well-meaning individuals to support community development initiatives.

The Secretary of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria, Zangon Kataf Branch, Comrade Onismus Zakaria, said the donated equipment and drugs would enhance service delivery and improve patient care.
He called on governments and development partners to sustain investments in healthcare infrastructure, noting that quality healthcare remains vital to community development.
The PDP Chairman in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area, Mr. Martins Koya, and the party’s Local Government Women Leader also lauded Sarki’s intervention, describing it as another demonstration of his commitment to the welfare of the people.
