Governor Uba Sani has approved a fresh round of political appointments and the constitution of governing boards for key state institutions as part of efforts to strengthen governance, improve service delivery and accelerate the implementation of his administration’s development agenda.
The appointments were announced in a statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibraheem Musa.
Among the new appointments, Hon. Audu Maikori was named Chief Strategic Adviser on Inter-Governmental Affairs, Umar Uba Maicitta was appointed Senior Special Assistant on Community Relations, while Aminu
Mohammed Gusau was named Senior Special Assistant on Policy Communications.
The governor also approved the appointment of chairmen and members of the governing councils and management boards of several state institutions.
For the Kaduna State University (KASU) Governing Council, Dr. Ibrahim Umar was appointed Pro-Chancellor and Chairman. Other members are Dr. Ibrahim Hamidu (Zone 1), Malam Adamu Aliyu Shika (Zone 2), Mrs. Ladi Barnabas Bala Bantex (Zone 3), and Alhaji Adamu Attah, representing the organised private sector.
The Kaduna Mining Development Company Management Board will be chaired by Lawal Umar Meyere, with Hon. Addau Ahmed (Zone 1), Hon. Kabiru Tsoho Yakawada (Zone 2), and Yohanna Allah Magani Christopher (Zone 3) serving as members.
For the Kaduna State Schools Quality Assurance Authority Management Board, Tanko Kokwain was appointed Chairman, while Thomas Samuel Amale, Esther Ayuba Anthony and Mustapha Ahmed will represent Zones 1, 2 and 3 respectively.
Governor Sani also constituted the board of the Kaduna State Livestock Regulatory Agency, appointing David Umar Gurara as Chairman. Other members are Bello Nuhu Yakubu (Zone 1), Hon. Hassan Adamu Shekarau (Zone 2), and Mrs. Hannatu Sambo (Zone 3).
Similarly, Yakubu El Saad Lere was appointed Chairman of the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC) Board. The board also includes Zubairu Balarabe Saminu (Zone 1), Binta Saidu (Zone 2), and Habila Abel Adamu (Zone 3).
According to the statement, the appointees were selected based on their competence, experience and commitment to the socio-economic development of Kaduna State.
Governor Sani congratulated the new appointees and urged them to regard their appointments as a call to service by discharging their responsibilities with diligence, transparency and integrity to ensure the effective delivery of democratic dividends to the people of the state.
