Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) and the running mate choice of Governor Uba Sani, Comrade Jerry Adams, received a rousing welcome from a mammoth crowd during a homecoming visit to Kaura Local Government Area, where he paid homage to three traditional rulers and received their royal blessings.
Adams visited the Moro’a, Attakad and O’grok Chiefdoms, where traditional rulers prayed for him and wished him success in his new political assignment. The visits attracted thousands of residents, party supporters and political stakeholders, who lined the streets to welcome him.
Accompanied by prominent political leaders from Southern Kaduna, Adams and his entourage moved through cheering crowds in his native Moro’a Chiefdom before he was received and blessed by the Chief of Moro’a (Asholio) Chiefdom, His Royal Highness Ishaku Tagwai Sambo.
The homecoming featured cultural displays, traditional performances and chants of solidarity, reflecting what many described as overwhelming grassroots support for Adams following his emergence as Governor Uba Sani’s running mate.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with journalists, Adams expressed profound appreciation to Governor Uba Sani for finding him worthy of the position.
“I sincerely thank Governor Uba Sani for the confidence he has reposed in me. My choice was not because I come from the largest ethnic group, the biggest local government area, or because I am better than others who aspired to the position. The criteria the governor used in selecting me are known only to him and God,” he said.
Adams pledged unwavering loyalty to the governor and promised to work tirelessly to justify the confidence placed in him while promoting unity, inclusive governance and sustainable development across Kaduna State.
He also expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would record a strong outing in Southern Kaduna, citing the backing of influential political and labour leaders in the region.
“With respected political leaders such as Ado Dogo Audu, Counsellor on Political Affairs to Governor Uba Sani; Abdulmalik Mohammed Durunguwa, former Federal Commissioner representing Kaduna State at the National Population Commission (NPC); Comrade Audu Amba, National President of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT); and other critical stakeholders standing behind this project, together with our political networks across Southern Kaduna, I am confident that delivering the zone for the APC is a done deal,” Adams stated.
Political observers said the impressive turnout and the royal blessings underscored Adams’ growing acceptance across Southern Kaduna and signalled increasing momentum for the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
